Grade II listed Jacobean former dairy and shippen

Once home to our daughter’s pony, Cleo. Brimbles is located at the entrance to the farm. We have retained original features wherever possible in this unique courtyard conversion and have used reclaimed timber throughout the building.

There is a small enclosed garden with patio and BBQ area at the back of Brimbles (accessed from the downstairs playroom) which leads to a small fenced area of wooded garden.

Indoor Swimming pool

There is a small heated indoor swimming pool which is accessed directly from the kitchen of Brimbles, shared with us and guests at our second cottage, The Barton Granary.  The pool is available daily from 10 am to 7 pm

We stayed for a long weekend in April for a hen do and it was fantastic! Lots of space for our dance class and afternoon tea! Anne kindly put two long tables together for us. Very comfortable with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchens were perfect for catering for big numbers. Anne and Phil were very welcoming and accommodating! Very relaxing space. The swimming pool was great too! Thanks for having us, would definitely recommend! X

We stayed at the Barton Granary. The houses were both immaculate, so well equipped and absolutely perfect to host all 18 of us. We wished we could have stayed longer! We had a fantastic time, and we're able to adapt our plans easily due to the flexibility of the houses.
The area was beautiful and so quiet! You also didn't feel as though you were disturbing anyone if you made some noise yourself! I would definitely return here, and will be recommending it to friends!

Amazing!! Have had a couple of yoga retreats here and both times enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the area and the place itself. Beautiful accomodation to stay in with everything you need at hand. Lovely swimmimg pool! We had meals included which were all homemade by Anne the owner! Wow!! What an amazing chef!! International and british dishes which included vegan and vegeterian. Everything was catered for perfectly. Will definitely be going back!!

Both cottages were so well equipped. We were a party of 20 and at no time did we feel cramped when we were all together in one cottage. The Pig Shed was absolutely great as it did get a little breezy in the evening, but because of the shelter the pig shed provided it meant we could all still sit outside for our BBQ. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the pool and it was plenty big enough. Would definitely recommend.

Situated on the edge of the small hamlet of Poughill, in the heart of the tourist free Mid-Devon countryside, the Barton is a small family run farm. Our land is grazed by a small herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle and a handful of friendly sheep along with chickens and one or two pigs.
