The Barton Granary is perfect for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.  Sleeping 10 (plus up to 2 babies in cots) it is the perfect venue for a family get together or for groups of friends, whilst still retaining an intimate atmosphere for smaller parties.

This Grade II listed former granary (built in approximately 1830) is at the top of the farm with views towards the village and across fields.

We’ve retained much of the original character of the building and have kept the original horse engine (used for moving grain) as a striking feature in the sitting room.  We’ve also retained original beams and stone walls wherever possible throughout the building.

The huge sitting room features a wood burner, open double-height beamed ceiling (incorporating a whole elm tree - which has to be seen to be appreciated), large glass doors to a sheltered patio and a separate gallery area, which makes a perfect place for children to play.  On the ground floor there is a large well-equipped kitchen/diner (with access to the patio) and a useful utility room with WC attached together with a twin bedroom and bathroom with shower.  Upstairs, the 2 double and 2 twin bedrooms also have many original features and there is a further family bathroom.

There is a small heated indoor swimming pool a short walk away, shared with us and guests at our second cottage, Brimbles.  The pool is available daily from 10 am to 7 pm.

Accommodation and amenities:

Ground Floor:  Hall.  Kitchen/Diner with electric cooker, microwave, large fridge, freezer, dishwasher, Lavazza Modo Mio coffee pod machine, digital radio/cd/dock player, and large dining table with 10 chairs.  Sitting room with Digital radio/cd player, docking station, Digital TV and DVD player and wood burner.  Bedroom 5 with 2 single beds and small digital TV.  Utility room with washing machine/drier. Cloakroom with WC and wash basin.  Shower room with large shower, WC and washbasin.

First Floor:  Galleried sitting area/play area, with toys, games and books.   Bedroom 1 with double bed.  Bedroom 2 with 2 single beds.  Bedroom 3 with 2 single beds.  Bedroom 4 with double bed.  Bathroom with bath, hand shower attachment, WC and washbasin.

Outside:  Enclosed patio and small garden, with picnic table. Weber charcoal barbecue (May to October) Private parking for up to 4 cars. Secure storage available on the farm for bikes/surfboards, etc.
