A few miles down the road, this quirky attraction has train themed fun for all the family including model railway and village, mini train rides and a soft play area.

Boat hire and horse-drawn canal boat trips based in the Grand Western Canal Country park.

Located on the quay in Exeter. Hire bikes or kayaks to explore the Exeter Quay and Canal area. They can sometimes deliver bikes directly to your cottage by prior arrangement.

An award winning properly muddy adventure course for all the family  (30 minutes drive, near Cullompton)

A traditional country estate in the heart of the Devon countryside (about 10 minutes drive) the Fursdon family has lived here for over 760 years.   Tour the house and garden then stop for a truly memorable cream tea.

A charming local museum, very child-friendly (kids go free!) and full of interesting displays, including the ‘Tivvy Bumper’ GWR steam engine, local industries (particularly lace making),  and the agricultural and home life of Mid-Devon residents over the years.  


There’s something for everyone in Exeter (20 minutes drive) from the historical Cathedral, the family friendly museum (RAMM) to the fascinating Medieval Underground Passages.  There’s some great shopping, particularly in the quirky West Quarter and a great choice of places to eat.
